Mixed EMOtions

Eventually the term is almost over, only the English exam tomorrow morning left, but that's a no brainer. I'm so exhausted from this month and I didn't even realize it until I tried to get up this morning. Today's logistics exam was scheduled for 10am, and so I set my alarm clock to 8am, in order to be able to look through the logistics stuff at least once before I had to write the exam. I didn't manage to get up until past 9 o'clock. I just couldn't get up.
The exam itself was weird, but due to some hints (I won't go into details here :D) I managed to do quite well, and I'm pretty sure i passed this exam as well. So this term should be done for me, despite a damn term paper about the future of teamwork which has to be handed in on 15th february. I'll need some days to get a clear mind again after all the crap this january.

New years resolutions are still going strong, also due to the help of a close friend of mine. She kind of kicked my ass when I needed it some time ago. I still can't quite believe how one night with nothing more than a mere conversation over an instant messenger can change your life. I think the person I'm referring to knows what I'm talking about. Though I didn't have much time for you in the last couple of weeks you're still very important to me and I'll be there if you need me.

Yeah, party tonight. Sounds great, but I feel like I'm going to throw up any minute and headache drowns any kind of anticipation. Perhaps I'm getting ill, perhaps I just worked too much and slept too less the last weeks. I'll let you know tomorrow.

Oh, and because I wasn't able to make any pics today myself I decided to take some I really like. None of these images are from me.

cu tomorrow,

Justin

Hooray ...

Today I had the questionable honor of driving around with my scooter in the rain, but hey, there's something to celebrate: finally, after three endless wasted months, I handed in the term project about business process reengineering today at exactly 12:45am. I worked the whole morning to get the documents into the right formats and printed it out at the university. Now I just hope that everything is fine and the lecturer doesn't find any stuff to criticize. Ok, that's a bit too optimistic, I just keep my fingers crossed he won't find too much.
Tomorrow at 10am I have the last real exam of this term, logistics. English on friday doesn't really count as exam, at least it never did for me. I haven't read a single page of my logistics notes or the book that we should have read, but the exam is open book anyway, so I hope that there will be some questions where you just have to look up the answers in the book or in the postreadings the lecturer posted on the internet.
And there will be a party tomorrow night, to celebrate the end of the term. I do not yet know when, where or even who will join in, and I'm broke, no money left for this month. I'll have to beg some euros from my dad. I'm curious what he will say if I ask him for money to go out...

See you tomorrow,

Justin

More Luck Than Brains...

Sebastien Loeb's Rally Monte Carlo 2008 would have been almost ended by a dumb policeman. This guy must be nuts. He's been so lucky not to get hit by the car.

Another Day, Another Exam ...

Todays exam was ok, I'm pretty sure I passed it. I just finished my English term paper and sent it to the lecturer. It's a thesis with an essay, the task was to write an academic essay about one of three given topics, I chose "Which of the following economic models is the most humane: Capitalism, Socialism or Distributism". Of course, as a prospective businessman I obviously went for capitalism. I think it's the most humane in terms of self-realization. If you have the brains and the balls to go for it, it's absolutely the best and fairest system for you. You get what you work for (At least in most cases), whereas in socially or distributistically oriented systems great amounts of your earnings are taken away to feed cadgers. Well, if that isn't a motivation to work hard and create economic values.
Now I'll continue to phone companies, asking for a practical. I need to make a three month practical straight away from may as part of my studies. I already applied to all banks, but their admission procedure is really late and I don't want to rely on that. I really don't want to work three months at my parents company for a pittance.
See you soon,
Justin

Way Better...

Today was so much better than the other day. Sunshine. You could almost walk around without wearing a jacket. It felt like spring. Now the sun has set and it's getting fricken cold again.

As you know, I had the information management exam this afternoon, and I'm absolutely sure I passed it. I knew almost every answer, after about half an hour (The scheduled time for this exam was about 1,5 hours) I was through with all questions and went through the whole exam again. Now I will have a look at the script from the quality management lectures. A very nice fellow student, Susie, gave me her notes from the lecture, in exchange I uploaded the photos I made of the flipcharts. Thank you for the notes!

The exam is tomorrow at 10am, I'm really confident about it, I don't think I'll blow it. Now I have to get back to my English term paper, which needs some final changes.

Take care of you,

Justin

mark & alex

Two talented guys, one from Canada, Alex Evans, one from the U.S., Mark Crisman. I love this sound, though the quality isn't that good in this YouTube video. For better quality listen to their songs on their myspace site.

Remorse...

Yes, I admit, I actually do have remorses. But not about something I did, moreless about something I didn't.

I worked the whole morning on a term project that needs to be handed in the upcoming wednesday, 30th. It really sucked, it was just wasted time. But as I'm the project manager of my group, I just have to. You know, these project manager jobs in projects at school or university are conflicting. You have to bear a lot of additional work and responsibility, but in return you get power. Which isn't such a bad thing actually. You can set the meetings and deadlines, despite it's a team-task you still have a lot of personal freedom this way. I have to be honest, I detest team- or groupwork. I want to work for myself, set my own times of work, beeing responsible for the result myself. Not beeing dependant on others.

Anyway, my schedule for the upcoming week.
  • Monday, 2pm: Information management written exam.
  • Tuesday, 10am: Quality management written exam.
  • Wednesday: Deadline for the term project, hand in all files digital and as hardcopy.
  • Thursday, 10am: Logistics written exam.
  • Friday, 10am: English oral exam, discussion of the term paper.
This week will suck badly. I haven't learned a single word for the exams yet, though the Information management exam on monday already is my second attempt on that particular course.

It's sunday, it's cold outside, it's raining. A deadly combination.

VW Helps To Prevent Terror Attacks

An excellent commercial by VW, which never made it to our tellies. The message of the commercial: A VW can even prevent terror attacks. I really like the idea behind the spot, it's hilarious. Have a look at it yourself:

Hello again, ...

sorry I didn't write much during the last week(s). Contrary to my expectations my life has become very busy, which is kind of good and bad at the same time. But I prefer it to my old one anytime. Lots of new stuff in my life, (hopefully) lots of new stuff in my blog! Like Lostprophets. Great sound, great video, I hope you enjoy it.

Daft Punk

I really like artist who try to push the envelope, constantly trying new stuff. For instance Justin Timberlake with his FutureSex/LoveSounds album, released in 2007. Continuing with Timbaland and his Long Player Shock Value, to remain in the recent past. Anyway, Daft Punk also creates and recreates music I really love to listen to. It's not my favourite, but from time to time it really rocks. Here you go.

New Design

Hi fellas,
I already promised you last time that the next redesign will be completely different. Ok, one thing remained, and that's the gorgeous Emma Watson in the header. She looks amazing, I loved her new movie ballet shoes by the way. But back to the redesign, you noticed it already: purple is gone. Yeah. After more than three months I've decided to change colors, I don't know yet whether I'll keep these colors for further updates on the design. Well, I hope you like it, and if not, i hope you get at least used to it then.
Take care of you,
Justin Time

[German] Ein Klassiker

Das Leben des Brian - Die Steinigung

Dr Cox' Best - Season One

I Am Legend

Last night I was at the movies with a couple of friends, watching Will Smith's new movie 'I Am Legend'.

I didn't really see any trailer before of the movie and I only knew that it was about the last human on earth, living in New York. I must say... this movie really rocks. Hardly ever I whitnessed a movie so intense as this movie. The trill, fear, the noises, you got to see this movie. It might scare you a bit, but it's one of the best I've ever seen.

And if you're into cars and you'd like to listen to a 2008 Shelby Mustang GT500 in surround sound, or you'd like to scare the hell out of your girlfriend you have to see this movie anyway.

Colin McRae

I was really sad when I heard about Colin's death. I loved to see him behind the wheel of the Focus, with the pedal to the metal, and the metal to the ground. I loved and admired his driving style and his skills. May he rest in peace.
